I discovered I wanted to be a therapist very early on in life, as I saw first hand the benefits that talking can have when we are facing challenges. Even before I began my formal training, I sought out opportunities to support others emotionally—to hear their stories and to be there for them. I felt, and continue to feel, deeply grateful for the trust people place in me when they share their experiences.

While training, I worked in a variety of roles, supporting disabled children and adults, helping children with learning difficulties to read and write, working as a pastoral manager in a secondary school, and volunteering as a befriender in a residential care home.

When I qualified as a therapist, it became clear to me what I had valued most about my previous professional experiences: listening to people, and helping them find a meaningful way through whatever challenges they were facing.

Together, we can look at what has brought you to therapy, how your experiences have shaped the way you think, feel and respond, and what you would like to be different. This might involve making sense of the past, understanding patterns that are no longer helpful, or finding new ways of approaching things in the present.

I see therapy as a collaborative process. I won’t tell you what you should think or do, but will instead work with you to understand what is happening and help you consider what might help. I feel privileged to be trusted with people’s stories, and I value creating a therapeutic relationship where you can be honest, curious and able to explore things at a pace that's right for you.
